* Preparing for Success

Throughout the year you will notice that many of our Science standards required by the Alabama for 5th grade are not included in the textbook. Therefore, I have created a wiki: http://ramsayscience5.wikispaces.com/ You will find different types of supplemental sources of information including content that the students will create for each unit. Study Guides and any pages that we will use in the text will also be notated on the wiki. Use the navigation bar on the left side to find each of the units.

Students will receive a yellow study guide for each chapter. I use the study guide to create the tests. If a student misplaces his/her copy another one can be found on the wiki. We will also be using many different types of digital resources to enhance our learning experience as we make applications to our lives today. Occasionally, our Coast to Coast Chronicles online journal will integrate into our Science lessons. Students will be assessed according to the rubric that they will create for each activity.

We alternate weeks of study with one-hour classes with Social Studies and Science. For example, the first week of school, we will study Social Studies; the second week, we will study Science. Tests are typically given on Fridays using the CPS "clicker" technology. Grades for tests will be sent home in the Weekly Folders that come home on Mondays.
