The Fultondale Elementary School

NECC 2006
San Diego, California
Our Tech Team at Fultondale Elementary was once again honored to be invited to participate in the National Educators Computing Conference (NECC) for their Student Showcase to present their E-Pal Project. In 2006, it was held in San Diego, California.
Obviously, to take 5th and 6th grade students all the way from Alabama to California took planning and preparation (and lots of approvals).
The end result of it all was a wonderful trip where the students truly were ambassadors for their state, school, family, and for themselves. These opportunities are those things that help shape their futures and each year I am amazed at how my students grow by going and how they truly do shine on this "business trip".

Getting there...
Our arrival to the Conference...
There is always time to see new technology and have a little fun just seeing what others are doing and to visit the various vendor booths to seek out the "free stuff". You might even run into famous author/illustrators as well...
With all there is to do and see, you can not forget what you are there to do. Preparation is all a part of it and we had to be ready to put on our best show...and those don't just happen. Hours of presentation practice, greeting practice, and then the night before we get to blow stuff up to display in our area...
Then it's time to go to work...
Needless to say, with my students interacting with Educators from all over the world, our booth was one of the most popular and best received in the Student Showcase...
Yes, I get involved from time to time...
usually getting compliments on my excellent students...
All through and we're all smiles...
You can't go to San Diego without going to the zoo...
We did have some other fun too...
Needless to say, my students (and the Principal) earned a well-deserved rest...
